Unfortunate Circumstances

Chapter IV

-Four hours after the basement hosing-

The Cat/Fox awoke on the steel table, shivering with teeth chattering. He felt sick to his stomach. His head swirled, not aided by the uncomfortable reverse incline. He wondered where he really was, what was going to happen to him. His captor, the lion, had mentioned something about selling him. He shuddered. There was no way he'd let that fucking lion sell him or make him a pet. He'd read horror stories about things like that, and would rather die than live through that kind of hell. Thinking about it and about what had happened to his brother was a bad idea. Very bad, he vomited, and cried as it ran down the table under his head, sticking to his ears. It wasn't much, he hadn't eaten for two days or so. Not since before being kidnapped. His head still swam from whatever drug he'd been given. And as the vomit stung where he had been cut, soaking his fur with his tears, he thought.. and thought hard.

Looking back on the first day, at the party, he tried to recall everything.. about everyone. Seeing as most of the attendees didn't even know him, much less had said anything to him, he discounted them as the responsible ones. except for his brother's friends. He didn't seriously think that Spirit would betray him or ever do something like this. But, that didn't mean someone else wouldn't. But who? The sadistic freak that did this was wearing a fur suit. All of Spirits friends, and boyfriend were all genuine furs, not costumed humans. Mulling it over in his foggy brain, he flattened his ears down tight in concentration. The only thing that didn't fit was Hikarus behavior. Yes, a little defensiveness was normal in a new relationship when around people you didn't know like family. But Spirit and Scorpiious were brothers. Hikaru knew that long beforehand. But when he was having an issue with his 360 console, getting it to load the disc that night, he was terse. Standoffish almost. Furs usually can be relied upon to be very close and even touchy feely, the ultimate social butterflies. but the way the wolf had behaved was out of character, unless for being feral. It was territorial in the extreme. Excepting how he acted in greeting, then wanting to go home and telling the brothers to take a night on the town, his actions and defensiveness during the party stood out in stark relief.

Scorpiious was laying, however involuntary, wondering why the wolf would wear a damned fursuit of all things when the raspy squeak of the door hinge alerted him that trouble was on the way. He quickly pretended to be asleep, hoping to not be hurt again, and maybe to overhear something helpful. He was in luck. He heard two distinct sets of footsteps echoing from the concrete, then whispers in the hallway. Hard to make out though.. the damned echoing.. "-rit doesn't know where he is thank god, filed a missing persons rep-" a high pitched rasp.. "fucking cops??" "-sus Christ, and he left the keys? right?" "yes t- ar is in the arage at-" Well, at least he knew Spirit was ok, but had no idea where he was, or that whoever this was he knew had kidnapped and beaten him after drugging him. As well as filing a report that he was missing, his brother had his car. But it wasn't likely they were even in the same place. This was obviously the house belonging to his kidnapper, but he just didn't know enough yet.

He had some time to run this through his mind before a bucket of cold water was dumped on his face, He coughed and sputtered, no longer able to pretend he was asleep. "wakey wakey bitch." it was the fur suit fuck. "Hope you enjoyed your nap. Nobody wheezes that loud when they're asleep bitch." the other figure had moved into the room and was standing in shadow, impossible to tell if it was a fur or a costumed human, but it had a muzzle. and ears. "Hey, what do you want to do about it listening in?" from the darkness the other kidnapper raised a paw to his hip, his eye shine catching in the light. "Hmm.. do you want to do something about it? I haven't figured out where to move him to, or found a buyer." the hybrid looked rapidly back in forth between the two, feeling sick again. likely from inadvertently swallowing some of his own feces during his hose down.

"Mull it over, and Ill leave it to you. but if you plan on selling him, you might want to clean him up. he smells like shit." The figure walked to the hose, uncoiling it in his paws. "No problem, he needs to learn his place anyway, too mouthy. where you going to anyway?" The lion fursuit looked between his captive and the assistant with the hose, he wore a look of confusion. "My job is to distract, and comfort. yours is the opposite. try not to kill it teaching your lesson." He shut the solid door with a clang more final than a gavel in a courtroom. The assistant fitted a much smaller pressure nozzle to the hose, and walked forward, smiling.

Spirit was crying again, curled up on the bed in a tight ball. He hadn't left the house since coming back from the police station. He had also turned off his phone. He held his brothers scarred Motorola razor in one paw, the battery had been removed or had been lost after it had fallen on the sidewalk. In his other paw, his slider, bar style phone, turned off. If his brother couldn't call, he didn't want to talk to anyone other than Hikaru. And not often either. he felt so guilty over falling asleep when he could have went with Scorpiious, or been awake to notice something. The corner where the he found the phone was directly in view from drivers seat. Also, having used his own battery from an identical phone, the detective that had taken the report didn't find anything relevant to his brothers disappearance. He squeezed the small thin phone in his paw, as though he could will it to power back on sans battery. But to no avail, He cried again clutching them to his chest.

As he had his phone turned off, he had told Hikaru to handle any phone calls they received from the detective or the police department. Every ring of the phone raised the little foxes hopes higher than the stars, and they were dashed on the rocks below every time, hearing Hikarus flat, clipped tone. Speaking either to a friend or family, or a wrong number. The phone had rung earlier, an hour after Hikaru had left, but he didn't think he could take that kind of disappointment himself, in person. So he had let it ring ten times. The phone was a landline, an older cordless model, and had no caller id, so he made a note to himself to tell Hikaru, that he might want to call the police station, or one of the hospitals they had called back to see if it was news, any news at this point. He thought though, that it might be nice to find a battery for it of his own so he could see his brothers picture on the tiny screen, it had only stayed on for a minute or two earlier when he had plugged it into the wall charger. Seeing the tiny smiling picture on his brothers phone had cheered him for a while. Even if he couldn't call without his phone, it would still be nice to have it on.

Hikaru pulled into the driveway quietly lost in thought. He was usually quiet, lost in his own thoughts, preferring to speak only little or when he was certain of what he had to say. Oddly, having Spirit suddenly be so silent, and withdrawn was unnerving. he had grown used to the little fox nattering about this or that excitedly since they had started dating. He flattened his ears noticing the onset of a headache. His boyfriend had been even more bubbly than usual in the days leading up to his brother's arrival, that odd, cat fox hybrid thing. he seemed ok enough, but... Hikaru couldn't shake the feeling that he was a threat to them somehow. he decided that given how his evening had gone, along with an impending migraine, it would be best to put such thoughts aside for the night. Spirit was stronger than he seemed, and even if things ended badly, he was resilient enough to spring back from the worst. He smiled. Some aspirin and a shower after he checked on his boyfriend would be best. He could never allow anything to befall his beloved, never ever. Trudging tiredly through the grass to the front door, the cool air refreshed him, and he began to formulate a plan, inspired by the clear, cool air.

"What? I couldn't hear you half-breed? Cock got your tongue?" the other fur with Scorpiious had found an ideal lesson, teaching the hybrid all about using his mouth. Except this time it was to mind his own business. After he had told Scorpiious what a nosy asshole he was, he had said family or not, "you're a nosy asshole, let me show you how it feels." The lion/suit laughed sadistically saying the hybrid was full of shit, then promptly inserted the hose like an enema into his victims tail hole, and un-kinked it. the hybrid had screamed almost audibly he thought, in spite of the gag. that water in the basement pipes must be freezing. Being the larger, full blooded feline, and the superior one, afforded many opportunities. And seeing the other creature writhe on the steel platform, jaw muscles clenching, he saw no reason to waste such an opportunity as this. With the water pressure fairly low and a kink to control it and allow excess to flow out, the lion/suit could take his time. he took only a minute to harden and snake out from his sheath, and another to fit a dental gag of his own into the other cats muzzle. The next thirty minutes however, were as they say, priceless. To the credit of his libido, the lion was able to climax three times using the other creatures unwilling muzzle. Producing an amusing gag noise each time. Until it passed out from shock anyway. He was disappointed, but, he figured that for his part, two things were true: dead men, or furs, told no tales, but learned no lesson. And, every pupil should have adequate rest and lots of nutrition. especially protein. This nosy hybrid cat had learned something, at least for now. He removed the hose and inserted a catheter to aid the drainage of the icy water in the other cat. Turning the table right side up to improve flow. The other furs head, bruised and shaven, with some cuts, lolled forward. ****** checked its pulse and respiration, was satisfied, and adjusting the hose to mix with water from the water heater, he clamped the end of the now warm water hose at the top over the other cats head, and left it running for a while. He decided an hour should do, then he could watch some T.V. until the Wolf got back.

Scorpiious woke, coughing but not from the water running over his head. It hid his tears at least. He tucked his ears down, angling his muzzle into the warm flow, trying to gargle the taste of the lions spunk from his mouth with some success. Not that it was something he wasn't familiar with, but the violation made it seem dirtier. foul. He spat it into one of the many drains at his feet. Not exactly how he expected to learn the identity of the one that had held the chloroform rag over his muzzle. it was him for sure. the other fur at the party. He felt sick again and his dry heaves quickly transformed into raspy coughs. the warm water felt good, he was so cold, it hurt. he was grateful for the warmth in spite of why it had been allowed to him. To keep him alive for more.. more lessons? He wasn't sure how many more he could take. It was clear he was getting sick from his treatment his first day here. He wasn't sure what would happen next. but he had an idea. The only trouble was keeping the tiny Bluetooth headset, sealed in rubber somewhat dry in his ear, and hoping that his phone stayed near enough to pick up the relatively short range signal so he could call his brothers home phone number. It was the last call he had dialed before arriving in town, had rang earlier, but he would have to wait until he was sure that he wouldn't be caught. if nothing else he had to talk to his brother one more time before whatever plan his kidnappers had could take place. Hoping it would stay dry, and charged, he fell asleep upright again, hoping he would have time to try once more.

Spirit's ears perked, hearing the sound of the front door opening one floor below. Carefully pitching them toward the bedroom door, he could faintly make out Hikaru talking downstairs as the door shut. He sounded happy. Deciding that it would be better than moping, he snapped both phones into a charging valet by the bed, closing the lid to keep the excess light produced by the tiny screens from waking him later. Trying to cheer up a little, he listened closely, only hearing Hikarus upbeat tone, speaking to the lion downstairs. Maybe about the phone call.. Spirit had forgotten that they had also given the detective both of their mobile numbers, in case they were away from the house. maybe the detective had found a lead on his brother, and unable to reach them at home, had called Hikaru. Trying not to get his hopes too high, Spirit eased the door open and padded downstairs.

"-st let Spirit keep it for now, he likes driving, may cheer him up a bit when he feels like leaving the house again Hikaru, its for the best." Neither the wolf nor the lion noticed the slight fox padding down the plush carpeted stair treads until he ventured a quiet hello. The lion jumped, Hikaru snapped his head toward him, startled as well. "Spirit! yo- your up?" "you ok boo?" the fox blinked, "did I scare you two or something?" Both looked toward each other, then back to the fox. "yeah, a little. were you ok while I was out?" Spirit nodded a quiet yes, gently nuzzling each in turn before taking a seat on the sofa. He sighed deeply. "The phone rang earlier, but I was in the bedroom, didn't get to it.. H- have you gotten any calls about Scorpiious?"

Hikaru sat down. He knew for a certainty there had been no such calls, otherwise, he would be discussing the topic of the pushy cat/hybrid with a lawyer while wearing an orange outfit with matching bracelets. "No, sorry boo, not today. They did call to say they hadn't given up it's, only been three days, and that we shouldn't give up yet." the wolf sighed, hoping that his crazy, insane plan would work. He looked to the lion. "Hey, if you don't mind, I could use some us time with Spirit. I didn't block your car in, but could you check the locks before you leave?" He winked at the lion. "don't worry about the deadbolts, Ill take care of that before bed. just the front, and back doors." Grinning as he padded across the carpet, He said "No problem H." then under his breath, something like, just protect and distract.

Two hours later, After watching a movie with his boyfriend, trying to forget the many cares and pains he had, Spirit woke. Slipping out of bed without disturbing Hikaru, always a sound sleeper, the fox padded down stairs. Although he had not eaten in at least a day, and having the worst guilt trip and shock of his life before that he found he had an appetite. Padding quietly down to the kitchen, he was deciding between soup or two vegetarian sandwiches. He opted for the more solid food, as hungry as he was. He quietly opened the refrigerator, the rubber seals crackling when he heard the low ring of the phone in the living room. Well, maybe this time it would be the detective with good news. He could use some. He padded over to the phone to pick up, hoping to wake Hikaru himself if it was. For all he knew, at this point, it could even be Scorpiious. Spirit smirked in spite of having thought of something so ridiculous. but, you never knew.
